I have a couple of National Data Packs on board, and on my Nexus One I use 3G Watchdog to keep tabs on the amount of 3G data I am using. I have used 3G Watchdog for about 5 months now (since I got the Nexus One) and have found it to be pretty accurate. However in the last 2-3 weeks I have found it steadily counting more data than My 2 degrees reports me as using.
I am normally within a Broadband Zone (Ak), but over the weekend I was in Nelson. The phone reported me as roaming on the Vodafone network. The data used over the weekend compared to what 3G Watchdog is reporting I used is quite different (3G Watchdog about 20MB higher than My 2 degrees). In fact, My 2 degrees is hardly reporting any data use over the weekend, whereas I know I was using quite heavily because I was using Maps extensively.
What could be going on here? Is it possible there is some sort of lag between data use reported when on the Vodafone network compared to being in a Broadband Zone? I am nearly at the end of my last National Data Pack, and granted I should get a text warning me, but I don't want to get caught on casual rates because the data use all of a sudden catches up.
