So I'm switching to 2degrees, but want to keep using my Razr, does anyone have any experience in changing the settings so it works on the 2degrees network. I've lost the manual, and anyway I'm not entirely sure what to do with the information in the 2degrees settings thread.

Hi Crucius
Hope this helps. This has worked before on a Motorolla Razr V3xx (or V3x) - Vodafone and normal version (normal versions say web access and web sessions instead of Vodafone live and internet profile).

Menu -> Vodafone Live (web access) -> Internet Profile (web sessions)

Select a profile (except for the first three as they can't be edited) and press options -> edit)
Name: 2dwap
Homepage: http://m.2degreesmobile.co.nz
Service Type 1: HTTP
Gateway IP 1: 118.148.1.118
Port 1: 8080 - leave everything else as it is and go to the bottom of the page -
GPRS APN : 2degrees
username: (blank)
password: (blank)
press Done.

Then press options -> set default
Select another profile below this one and options -> edit name: 2dmms
Homepage: (blank)
Service Type 1: HTTP
Gateway IP 1: 118.148.1.118
Port 1: 8080
- leave everything else as it is and go to the bottom of the page -
GPRS APN : mms
username: (blank)
password: (blank)
press Done.

Go into main menu -> messaging
once in messaging press Options soft button -> Setup -> Message Setup -> MMS Setup.
Highlight "Server Info" and press Change
Highlight a profile and press Options -> Edit
Service name: 2dmms
Server name: http://mms.2degreesmobile.net.nz:48090
Web session name: select "2dmms"
Press Done
Check that it has a tick next to the profile otherwise go to options and set default

Done!

So the problem I have is that I'm not getting any connection at all (the phone says no service), even though I've set my network connection mode to automatic (well, it was by default).

Any idea on how to fix that?

Bad SIM?? Can you test it in another fone. Or is the fone locked to Vodafone. It wasn't purchased at the time when they were locking them for a month or two last year I think??

Yes, the sim works perfectly in another phone (Sony Ericsson W205). I guess it could be locked, how can I check/remove the lock?

You can try the automatic settings at: https://motorolasetup.tarsin.com/home.htm?locale=en_NZ&country=NZ

Doesn't sound right... "No Service" means that it's not connecting to the towers, and shouldn't be related to a phone being locked. If you purchased it around April-May 2008, then there is a chance that the phone is locked, in which case, follow this.

Well, I bought it early 2007, so I'm fairly confident it's not locked. Plus when I put in the 2degrees sim card it didn't ask for an unlock code. I've already transfered my old number over to the 2degrees sim, so I can't make sure it still works on the Vodafone one. The phone is the Razr V3x if that helps at all.
