Hi everyone.

I am using my old vodafone vodem to use 2degrees mobile broadband.
Its working great, but i had to set it up manually as the installation software rejected my simcard.
So i'm not receiving text messages or getting the other advantages (if there are any) that the 2degrees software would give me.

I was wondering if someone would pull the installer app from their 2degrees modem and post it or email it to me so i can attempt to get in working with my vodem. Im using osX, so would need the .app file.

thanks if you can help!

2degrees' E1552 software isn't made for your Vodem so I don't see how that would work...

Same manufacturer though.. I'd love to give it a go, and I'm sure others would appreciate it if i get it working.
Go on, I'd really appreciate it!

Just FYI - the 2degrees software on osx (I'm using snow leopard) sucks about 20%cpu on my macbook whenever it's running. I've started just connecting using the network manager, it makes a hell of a difference to battery life. It does mean no text messaging or stats though.

you can download the generic Huawei mobile partner software and flash your vodem with that which should work on MAC.

Any posts are personal comments and not that of my employer

Suckimoto time, had hell of a day today trying to get 2degrees simcard, bought the $20 mobile broadband pack where you get 1g worth, to work in my VODAFONE broadband stick, no go when I got home and put my stick in my puter!..am using a desktop Pentium at home..So how da hell can I get around this??.went into a Vodafone store, and they didn't want to know, for obvious reasons.
So my internet time is down to using public computers at libraries and or friends pcs, like now.
Is there a unlocking crowd on the North Shore that unlocks the software on the Vodafone broadband stick??..am not forking out another hundred bucks for a 2degrees stick that's for sure!

Does anyone know if there's a way of finding out the SIM's MSISDN (mobile phone number) from within the 2Degrees software? Seems to be a bit of an oversight given that you log in to the 2Degrees site using this number and the site doesn't automatically recognise or resolve your number from the source IP address of the session.

Just send an sms to someone and that will give you the number

Yup, that was my first thought. I tried composing an SMS in the software client, but it does not seem to want to send. I'd suspect that perhaps it doesn't have credit to send an SMS. I can't add credit because I don't know the number of the SIM to log in to My2Degrees. :)

I ended up phoning their 0800 number. Didn't want to add credit for SMS to an card that I only wanted to use for data, they were pretty quick to give me the phone number from the sim id
