Hi all!

Is it normal to take 14 days (and counting)... for your Orcon connection up and running when transferring from another provider?

I'm transferring over from Telecom :)

Cheers

IIRC I was told approx 10 working days for mine to be connected , but was up and running within 5.
If its been 14 working days, then Id give Orcon a call and check what the delay is. Have you heard from them (or a Telecom/Chorus tech) ?

That doesn't sound normal, usually a takes <10 working days.

You should contact them and find out what the hold up is.

I have just done the same swap, from Telecom to Orcon.

My application (credit check etc) was approved on Thursday last week. It is now Wednesday and I am all connected as of an hour ago.

so >5 business days is what it took for me. Pretty good!

They did advise it could take up to 2 weeks, depending on different things (but thats just a cover-their-ass statement).

I'd say give them a call and make sure all is well. As it turned out, there was an error with my swap over (telecom screwed something up, so when orcon tried to connect my line, it ended up being duplicated or something stupid), but Orcon corrected it and went ahead.

However, the only thing they should have done was ring me and tell me that there was an error - because as it were, the Orcon support person I spoke to was telling me to ring Telecom and ask them whats going on.

But all is well. Good luck with the move... things are so much faster.
