My good tweeps, a follower of mine, @noozeeland has had an awesome idea to give a whole new Rhys Darby-esque name to @2degreesmobile's USB Modem and the name is....... USB Sticky Thingy!!!! Now 2 Degrees has said that if we get 26000 tweeps to agree they will change it so if you could tweet the following tweet and sign the twitition linked below and make a change for the better.

"Let's convince @2degreesmobile that we want #usbstickythingy and sign the twitition here: http://twitition.com/4oufr !!!"

Twitition is here http://twitition.com/4oufr

26,000 Twitter users? You want the entire New Zealand Twitter population to sign up for this idea?

It was the number @2DegreesMobile gave us. We will try our hardest and hopefully get a compromise....

So far there has been a clear distinction between their ads and their actual branded products in terms of where and how Rhys is used. As if they are intentionally trying to expose him through ads alone..

AFAIK there is no promotional material or any real trace of Rhys on the website or in the IVR or anything like that...(actually I think the website's error message has a picture of him.

Its cool that people are excited enough about 2degrees products to the point where its customers are creating a culture of their own. :)
