So on friday I rang slingshot to ask them when my phone number (the one they gave me) will be ported over to iTalk since my 'justbroadband' was connected on friday I thought they would be smart and port my number over at the same time but unfortunatly smart and slingshot do not belong together as some idiot CSR I spoke to when I set everything up forgot to put in the system that my number was to be ported to italk.
I spoke to someone on friday and they told me that because I was? calling so late they wont beable to do it then (was about 6pm) but they will get to it first thing on monday.

I had dialtone on my line today (monday) morning but by this afternoon I have no dial tone and when I ring my number from another line? I get a message from Telecom saying that the number is not assaigned to a phone... YAY I thought my line will be ported.

Couple hours later I ring Slingshot to see what was going on... apparently something didnt get put in the system correctly and so the CSR put it in correctly tranferred my info to the iTalk dept and told me that my number will be ported in 3 to 6 business days.

I get a text message from slingshot a couple hours later saying that my number will be all ported over to italk on the 26th in the AM.....

so now I am without a phone line... thanks alot slingshot.

So I have an update to this frustrating situation.

So they disconnected my landline on monday and sent me the text telling me my landline number (which was theirs btw) will be connected on thursday morning (today) I rang them this afternoon and asked them if my number had been ported.

They had an update for me on tuesday which they neglected to inform me of until today when I rang.
Since I never actually requested my number to be ported they are disconnecting it but if I still want the number they can put it back in the exchange and port it taking 3-6 additional business days ( I did request my line to be ported when I signed up; they are just too idiotic to comprehend this) OR they can give me a new number for italk.

When I rang them last friday to check on the porting issue I asked them which would take longer, porting my existing landline number OR getting a brand new number from italk.
The CSR told me porting my existing number was quicker taking only 3-6 business days so even though I didnt care which number I got I went with porting instead of new number since it took less time even though it didnt make any sense why.

Found out today why it didnt make any sense for the new number to take more then the ported number, the CSR is spoke to on Friday was a complete and utter useless muppet.
The CSR I spoke to today pressed a button and wahla I had a new italk number which I could use that day.
So I could have had a phoneline a week ago.

Slingshot you need to train your CSRs better; stop employing stoners who dont know how to enter information correctly.
