I have no idea where to ask this except for trying here. On my xbox my NAT shows up as moderate which means I can connect to some, but not all people (specifically those with closed NAT). I have followed the guides on portforward and xbox websites to get open NAT by opening certain ports but even though a port chechking program says those ports are open, my NAT on my xbox is still showing up as moderate.

Does anyone happen to know if Orcon or even the Homehub is set to only allow moderate and not open NAT ??

Better yet does anyone else use a Xbox and is with Orcon and has open NAT ??

I rang Orcon who told me to call the modem makers, but there phone system says they are closed but open at 9am, its almost 10am so can't contact them there, although I will try again later.

Any help/advice would be highly appreciated.

Hi there i'm not on orcon, however i had a similar problem with my xbox live trying to get the Nat to become open. After following almost every port forward tutorial i found that some modems wont port forward despite having 'port forward' features. I had a crappy D-link modem which i replaced with a dyna-link modem which seemed to do the trick and they are also a low end brand. Hopefully this may be of some help.

have orcon in auckland with orcon home hub (rta1025we).

give xbox a static ip.

for e.g xbox 192.168.1.124

log into modem 192.168.1.1

go to NAT/port forwarding and add

port 3074 under external port. protocol choose 'both'. IP put 192.168.1.124 and save. reboot modem and try NAT test on xbox again.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Thank you very much for that, I had it set to my pc's static ip not my xbox's static ip. All good now, thanks :D:D:D
