Anyone had this issue before? I just wasted $1 trying to record a greeting but kept getting prompted to record as it obviously couldn't hear me then eventually hung up on me, I even tried yelling much to the bemusement of others around me. I called my fiancée and she could hear me fine.

In the end I had to borrow a work colleagues palm trio, put my 2degs sim in, and recorded the greeting fine.

Also, there doesn't appear to be an option to change the mailbox name recording or whatever it asks you for when you first setup your voicemail, you can only change the greeting

I'm guessing it's just me seeing as no one's ever posted with a similar issue

Well since you said you yelled I'll assume it wasn't a volume issue. However, it will refuse to record a greeting that's less than 2 seconds long. So "Hi, leave a message!" won't work.

//Sent back about a billion "Can't Record Voicemail Greeting" tickets in pre-launch trials because of *that* little gem, let me tell you...

Lol, nah it was "Hi this is x, I'm unable to come to the phone right now so please leave your name and number and i'll get back to your shortly" or something along those lines

I spoke at the same sound level with my fiancée and she said I sounded louder than before, previously on XT

Well, don't know then... especially if putting in another phone worked. :-)

Wouldn't this call be priced as "getting your voicemail" and only cost 20c, rather than $1?

I guess he called 5 times. Try asking Care very nicely if they'll give you 80c back.

The voicemail kept hanging up on me, due to it not hearing me recording, hence having to call back and try again

It's all good, not looking for a refund... unless 2DegreesCare on here is feeling generous :p
