STAY AWAY FROM SLINGSHOT!
On my second fault ticket after they closed the 1st one because apparently my first complaint was fixed....
nope, worked for 3 days (during the day, no experience at night) then back to 200ms ping and 100 ms jitter. No physical fault because it can be fine in the day but is un-usable in the evening.

..... such a strange coincidence that this started midway through august when AYCE started...

Which ISP do you recommend in christchurch?

They havent even had the decency to do anything with my complaint. They are not part of the TDR so thats not an avenue to pursue.

Considered complaining to the commerce commission about their flagrant violation of the FTA over their products, but it seems if you are not Telecom then the commerce commission wont tell you how to run your business.

If you are going to change go to Snap. They have just won the best ISP award again this year, only company to do it twice. I have been with them for a year and they have been great!

Do they have an auckland presence yet? Last I asked their pings were crap because of stuff going to chch and back.

I think I saw on here that they are building there own equipment up there in the big smoke. My brother is on Snap in Auckland I will have to check with him to see what it's like.

Rome wasnt built in a day.

If you check the SS forums, they are working on the problem.

You can help them out by sending tracerts , speedtests & logging fault tickets.

No but it appears that rome was torn down in one day, around the same time that AYCE started.

I check the SS forums regularly and it's the same repeating problems with the same repeating answers.

About to do that a third time. The first time I didn't reply quick enough (because the net's un-usable) and it was closed.

the thing that's frustrating is that I have to fluff about with all the test's and I'm still paying full price!

I'm merely venting here so if anyone decides to join and does a quick google before they sign up, there is a chance they will find out about how bad christchurch SS is.

I have been told that it's different data but you could be onto something with the increased amount of people signing up.

It doesn't really matter what sligshots excuse is, the fact that it keeps on going un-resolved is ridiculous!

Having the exact same issues in Pukekohe. As you say seems a bit coincidental that this would start happening just after they released AYCE.

What do you expect from a company that does not respect the right of a person not to be called with telemarketing calls, they are not a member of the marketing association of NZ, if they were they would have to change this behavior, even an unlisted number does not spare you from slingshot telemarketing and it does not matter how many times you tell them to not call back, they keep doing so, you would be a fool to have anything to do with a company with this attitude, you are just asking for trouble.
