Hi there. I've had my iPad since nz release and I've been able to buy data packs in the past by going to settings and sending a text message from there. Some time since last month that option seems to have disappeared from settings. I believe I updated to the latest iPad software version a couple of days ago. Is anyone else having this issue?

Still there for me. I'm on the latest release iOS (3.2.2?). Have you installed a beta of iOS 4.x? [It would REALLY annoy me, if Apple broke my SIM App].

Have you had a SIM swap? Only the microSIMs have that feature: if you SIM swapped to a normal SIM that you cut down to fit, it won't have that.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

I'm on a cutdown so have never had that option yet. Any news on possible other ways to purchase data packs in the future? I'm still hoping for a full blown 2degrees iPhone/iPad app that let's me view my account and purchase add ons, any news on if/when we may get something like this? Consume is great for viewing remaining allowance but a dedicated 2degrees app would be better if it could do purchasing too :-)

Jailbreak it and install SwirlySMS which is a free app. Makes the iPad work just like a cellphone for sending and receiving texts.

That's an option I guess, would be great if we didn't feel we had to resort to that though. I've jail broken my iPhone before but suffered reliability issues so would prefer not to

I'm afraid I can't discuss future plans, sorry. :-)

Hopefully the future plans you can't discuss will be released soon. And if you're in need of a beta tester......

Yes I also had issues in the past with my iPhone (3GS) but have tried the latest GreenPo1son jailbreak (iPhone 4 and iPad) and it works perfectly on both devices. MyWi is just too good not to have on the iPhone. Why dont Apple allow this app?? It used to suck battery power but now it works flawlessly on my iPhone 4.

The iPad has been hobbled by Apple and not allowing SMS on the 3G is just ridiculous. There are many other apps that turn my iPad into a much better device once jailbroken. And like I said there are no reliability issues at all. You can always restore it anyway.
