Slingshot has upgraded my bandwidth from 25gb to 40gb  for no charge! They also gave me free caller id, Answering machine, and other handy stuff.

Slingshot aren't that bad! (Apart from their customer service of course)

Great news - we’re upgrading you to our Better Network!

This means you’ll now receive 20 FREE phone features (including free voicemail). The other
bonus is that our Better Network enables faster broadband speeds! And it won’t cost you a
cent more.

Please read this letter carefully as it contains important information about your upgraded
service.

Your Broadband Plan
Your plan name might change as a result of the upgrade. But don’t worry - we’ve organised things so that
your broadband data allowance and speed will be the same or better than today, and you won’t pay a cent
more.

Then it goes on to say we will be on the elite package with the voice mail and such.

So I would assume since the new plans came out and there is no longer a 25gb plan they have upgraded everyone to the 40gb one?

Not sure but would like to see if this has happened to anyone else.

I'd say you have been moved onto their own gear in your exchange as part of local loop unbundling

thats bogus i just checked our plan. were on a "PRO" plan. and in the list of avaible options. there is no such plan.

the price of the bill is 61 per month for 25GB. lol. and the next closest thing is 40gb. for  65.

what gives? morons.

I would rather they upgraded the speed. The difference between 25 and 40 gigs is stuff all when you do several 100 a month.

Sounds like you've been placed onto our LLU Network. We resell vodafones LLU in Auckland but have our own gear (so far) in hamilton, cambridge, te awamutu and napier.

Hah then tauranga as well :) I didn't mention it because it's not for general sale yet, but we are migrating people over to it at the end of this month/start of next month.

ah yes, The 40gb kicks in on the 29th. Any ideas on how much faster the internet would be? if any faster at all?

depends on what you're connected to and what you're doing. If you're on adsl1 gear and close enough to the exchange still your maximum speeds will be faster providing the source is good.
