Just wondering can I buy a 50 mb pack of data and also a 512mb pack?
Cause I want internet at work during lunch and there is full 3g 2Degrees coverage, but at home I dont get 3g 2Degrees only vodafone.

You sure can, when you are out of the BB Zone coverage you will go back to using the 50mb data pack.

Just an update...

If you've run out of 'pack' data (we'll send you a text when it's low) and don't want to use the standard data charge of 50c per Mb text 'lock' and data will be switched off until you get another 'Data Pack'.

Cheers

2DegreesCare: Just text 'unlock' to 233 to activate the National Data pack when you're at home and 'lock' when you are in the BB Zone to kick in the BB pack.

Why do we need to do that?

I've got almost this exact setup at the moment, my BB pack is having traffic deducted from it when I'm in Wellington and my National data pack remains untouched (because I was stupid and bought the national pack before going "doh", I only need the bb pack :))

Just an update...

There's no need to change anything if you've got both the National and Broadband packs. If you're going out of the BB zone it will automatically change over to the National Data pack.

If you've run out of 'pack' data (we'll send you a text when it's low) and don't want to use the standard data charge of 50c per Mb text 'lock' and data will be switched off until you get another 'Data Pack'.

Just a query on this - If you are within the Wgtn region but dont have 3G connection will 2degrees fall back onto the vodafone network and charge you on national data??

It should fall back to the 2G connection if there is a signal but if it's outside our 'canopy' it will pick up VF's network.

You can tell if you are on 2degrees 2G if you get EDGE data service (because VF 2G is only the slower GPRS). Your phone will probably show a little 'E'.

Of course the phone might also show 'Vodafone' if you are on VF but this is handset dependent.
