I have had both email surveys and phone calls from 2degrees asking why I have not signed up on a  plan after after registering interest earlier. My answer is i am waiting for a calling plan not a txting plan. I do not want a want 1000 txts in a year  (worth $10 at 1c each) I want more calling minutes. When will this happen?
cheers George

What's your monthly budget and how many minutes do you need?

No set budget, no set minuite usage. Just dont like having to screw around putting credit on.

Once I have another handset would probably want a few gigs a month, calls and texts priced as they are for prepay or slightly less would be ideal.

When I had the N95 on vodafone with the data only plan that johnr sorted out to get incoming calls working, it was great.

Unless you make all your calls to 2 degrees and landline numbers and top up monthly, even the $29 plan works out better, and since the mins can be carried foward it means that on variable usage you are better off.

I would just prefer to see them $10 cheaper, or replace the texts with data - 50MB - comeon, thats just a joke!

50 mb is a joke yes.

However 100 bonus minutes and 30 rollover minutes is not :D

Perhaps if that $6 for the 50 megs could be put towards one of the larger plans?

Lol you guys are funny. With MTR rates at 15ish cents per call and 7ish per text, how can they dream of offering unlimited calling? You don't realise how much they have changed the market, I'm not being a fanboy, I am looking at how the entire mobile market has changed in the past 18 months. Wait till March 2011 when regulation comes in...

Can you explain how their post pay plans aren't good? $29 for 160 min is great... 18c a min is pretty good, but thats not including 1000 texts and 50mb worth of value.

they obviously arenot paying MTRs at 7c per txt as 1000 would cost them $70 and they would be broke. Note also I am not saying their plans are not competiive just too focused on txting.
cheers

Actually texting is a two way service, you send a text and 90% of the time you get a reply... Unless you have no friends.

And there is also the deal with groups of customers. Usually people who sms and call each other alot are on the same network. Now that there is three main mobile companies you will start to see a definate line in the sand.

Can you explain how half the prepay cost of calling and 1/3rd the cost of plan calling vs the competitors: is not focused on calling?

Am I right asuming that you expect 1million minutes for $5?

A off net call costs 15 cents per minute.

The OP wants a plan with calling minutes and does not need texts. Seems like a perfectly reasonable request to me.

Also Australia has MTR and they still can offer unlimited calling, so that is just a red herring in the argument.

That said 2degrees has been the best thing for NZ mobile customers in that they have significantly reduced the costs of calling.

Next time I upgrade my phone I definitely will look at them as an option.
