  1. Currently I can't use my 2Degrees for TxT-a-Park, this would be a great service

  2. Somebody let Nokia etc know there is a 3rd operator in NZ, and give them the settings - this is fro Ovi etc and tethering mobile to PC (I know, JoikoSoft is great but heavy on battery)

  3. Let FaceBook know about 2Degrees, so they can update their menu for txt updates.

I think that's all for now.

Yes Txt-a-park would be useful, anybody from the new Auckland Council here?

I didn't know Ovi had problems with 2deg, I always connect to WLAN before using it... But I really want a data option that can make that 50megs last until I decide to use it up. I just block the data most of the time since there is no data plan that lets me keep the data until I need it (eg stuck somewhere and need map or email urgently).

Time to find a new industry!

Allows you to pay for parking using your cellphone. You text a code to a certain number and it charges your parking to your phone account. Available in the main centres.

Doesn't work from my "021" number on Telecom either so it's a bit of a half arsed service.  Paying by credit card is faster and easier, too much faffing around using txt a park.

hi all

I work for the council and can pass on that people would like text to park for 2 degrees customers . But no promises that it will happen.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

+1. I used to use it but it was such a hassle sending the text that it was easier to swipe the card. The cost is the same and the card is way faster.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

You overlook why many people use the service - because with bonus topups on prepay using the service becomes significantly cheaper than cash!

That's the first I've ever heard of isues with ported numbers. I'd contact Telecom if I were you because something is probably messed up with your connection.

I hadn't thought of that since I am not on prepay. Maybe that's why it doesn't workSmile

Last time I tried using Txt-A-Park on XT (several months ago) it didn't work - I would guess your number is ported to XT, hence why it won't work?

Good point, I hadn't thought of that.  Can't be bothered contacting Telecom though as I would probably only use it twice a year so not a good use of my time.

Thanks alot, would be great to get that sorted. It may also be affecting ported numbers like mine, eg using an 021 number on 2degrees or XT. Somebody wants you to fix TXT-a-park for other cities too, not sure if you can help with that but I guess it might be a common platform?
