Do your parents have an email address and a handset that supports email. Does the handet support the format of the attachment you are wanting to send?

If YES setup the email client on the handset

Your post has very little INFO my mind reading skills are a bit rusty today sorry

They live out of town and have trouble even turning the thing on. I wanted to send the message so they receive it via a text message.

But a text message is only text.

What are you wanting to send them?

This is what I want to do.  I want to send an email from my PC with two attachments containing photos and send it to their 2 degrees cellphone so they receive them in a text message.  I've sent messages this way to friends overseas, each carrier has a certain address you add on to the persons phone number which makes it possible.

So you would like to send a photo to their mobile phone

Does their handset support MMS?

Can't you just send it from your phone?

I am not aware of any carriers in New Zealand that do what you require with added media

I guess I can't since I'm trying to do it via email.  I'll flick 2 Degrees an email and ask them instead.  Thanks.

Good luck as advised it can only be done via email to the handset once the email client is setup and of course MMS

You can't send photos to SMS. You can send photos via MMS. However, New Zealand operators don't have a feature that allows you to email an address and have that converted to MMS.

If you're with Telecom you can use mmsgallery.telecom.co.nz to send a photo message to another handset, just upload the image(s) to the online gallery and then attach it to a new MMS.  This may work for you.
