On the 2 degrees usage site shows as GPRS data usage. Phone has letters H next to up and down arrows.

Seems to be running pretty fast, just thought 3G would have letters 3G at top of phone.

On some phones, e.g. Android, H=HSPA.

The web site coverage maps are conservative, and you might get 3G outside the areas on those maps. But it's only MIGHT. So, lucky you!

Made the same mistake when I first got an android phone. H is better than 3G.

Thanx John. I was wondering what H meant on my Galaxy 3. No mention of it in the user guide..

All data is listed as GPRS on the usage page regardless of what speed you got it.

Sony Ericsson phones have an H icon instead of 3G.

Side story: When my phone was faulty and wouldn't play sound through its ear hole (SE G502), the lady at the vodafone shop said the H stood for "headset" and thats why it wasnt working. lol

I found with my SE phones, it would say H when I was in the 2d canopy, but as soon as I was out it would say 3G. Was handy for knowing how much I'd get stung for my data with just a quick glance :)

Speeds were pretty much the same regardless of what the icon said

On my android, when I'm roaming on vodafone it actually says that in it's status bar, vodafone nz | 2degrees :)
