Now as an ex employee of Slingshot I thought I'd share a little tip with you all on how to avoid the long wait on the phone.

Now Slingshot opens at 0800 hours.

So call takers will be ready with their headsets all ready to go.

not many people call at 0800 hours so if you call at about 0805 hours, I can guarantee that you will get to talk to someone.

Remember : 'Early bird catches the worm'

p.s. I use Telecom :)

Oh and calling on mobile phone will reduce the wait time dramatically as it costs the company.

My wait times have always been 5-10 minutes...
they do have the option for a call back which is what I take now anyway and I usually get called 10-30 minutes later.

Beggers can't be choosers!

Thanks for this tip - after waiting 40 mins on hold using the landline (pressing the key for their callback feature didn't do anything), I called on my cellphone and they answered within 30 seconds!

What the heck? Why dont they do anything to improve this? Those wait times are bull! I feel bad for you guys. Telecom is usually pretty snappy, although I find myself having to call a couple of times before I get someone who knows what they're doing in some cases.

Wow 30 seconds...that must be a record.
But then you have to take into account that you will always get what you pay for.
Hence the service from SS = Cheap price.

At least its still faster to get thru to slingshot at 3.30pm on a weekday than it is for telstra clear's residential helpdesk. I am really sick of hearing that orchestra play the theme song to beauty and the beast.
Slingshots hold music is somewhat more modern.

not enough compared to number of customers so it will always be like this unless they start recruiting more staff. I guess they need more multi skilled staff instead of just customer service skilled and sales..
