We have finally been cabinetised and my Belkin wired ADSL router now reports it is connecting at G.992.5 (ADSL2+). Previously speeds before cabinetisation were reported by the router as 7.8mb down and 0.8mb up with real speeds (outside of peak times) of 3.2 down and 0.6 up.
Now the router reports 13 down and 0.4 up with real non-peak time speeds of 10 down and 0.4 up which is good.
But the router seems to disconnect from Orcon a lot more frequently. The ADSL line always stays active and a router reboot (sometimes soft sometimes hard reset) seems to reconnect.
Could this be a problem with our router not handling ADSL2+ speeds (despite being made for it) or is this likely to be an Orcon problem?
This is the router we have here:
