Hey guys

I was told by 2degrees support today, due to my current simcard not working, that I need to go to stationary warehouse to get one..

Is it the same as a normal simcard which i would buy from a shop. Because, stationary warehouse is too far away.

Can I just get a normal simcard? Which is not activated?

Thanks.

You will require a SIM that is not activated on a MSISDN already (MSISDN = number) for you to keep your number

No that is not a blank SIM as a number is already assigned to the SIM in the core elements of the network (HLR ,IN) etc...

If you are happy with a new MSISDN (number) go to where is closer and get a new SIM pack with a new number already assigned to the SIM

Ushare, in simple language - - -
If you want to keep your phone number (MSDIN) AND any credit you may have "on your phone" then you will need a blank SIM.
When you get the (no-charge) blank sim, 2degrees helpdesk can transfer your credit and phone number onto the sim.
I am assuming the 2degrees helpdesk is referring you to the blank SIM to resolve some form of issue you are having.

If you dont particularly care about any credit you have AND dont mind changing your phone number to whatever is printed on the packet then go ahead and buy a new SIM.

I would make the trip to warehouse stationery - - - a pain it may be
Cheers

Just to clarify for you - the "blank sim" is only available from Warehouse Stationary; the $2 and $5 SIM's etc are not "blank" as they have numbers already assigned and these are not what you are after.

Also, have patience when waiting for people to answer - people are not sitting in here 24/7 to answer questions, although it may sometimes seem like it. :)

They are also available from the 2 degrees stores.

My bad - I should have said that; I was more trying to get the point across that what he could get at DSE, or Harvey Normans, etc was not a "blank sim" and that he would have to visit Warehouse Stationary to get one (as 2d had told him to do)

Why dont you just call the 2degrees helpline instead of badgering this forum? I mean JohnR is only helping... You gave 10 minutes for a reply lol.
