Hi

I signed up with 2 degrees last night and got the LG Optimus P500 phone.  Loaded up the LG software on my PC and it said there was a update for my phone.  Set about installing the update and it screwed the phone.  Phoned LG and they said return the phone to the retailer and get a replacement.  So took the phone back to Dick Smith and got a replacement.

So have many people had problems updating this phone?  Are there less problems updating over air rather then via the pc?  Does the over air update count as part of your data allowance?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, think I will try updating via wi-fi tomorrow.  The replacement phone seems to be a better than the original so it might have been a fault with the original.

I set my phone up for update, but pulled the pin when it said the update would erase all user data, settings and apps. It has taken me ages to get the phone to its current happy state, don't want to have to start again. Am I understanding correctly re data erase?

Also, any noticeable changes to phone/interface post update?

thanks in advance

yay I brick my p500. took it to dse the sales did couple tests confirm the phone is death. and log the case and give me a docket. with this you can check the state of you phone on dse support websit. after a week they give me a call and pick up a replacement. It got all the stickers on the phone so look like new to me.

ps I only sent my phone + battery to dse. when I pick up the new replacement got a sd card attached. so I said nothing pick up my replacement, the new battery still in packaging and a 2g sd card as gift for my mess up.

Tried to do the update on my replacement phone today.  It killed it, would'nt even power on.  Took it back to DSE and they replaced it on the spot.  I won't be trying to update this one.
