For the past 2 hours  no one here has been able to receive emails, send is OK.  Outlook and Eudora just time out on the receive.   Put in  a Telecom T-stick and it receives fine.

Called Orcon, CSR said that there are no problems.  This happens on but mine and my wife's emails both using different Orcon accounts but on the same ADSL  circuit.  Tried changing  the receive from mail.orcon.net.nz to pop3.orcon.net.nz but still the same.

Well wait until morning and retest.  If not going will log a fault again..

Regards,

Old3eyes

Please submit here http://www.geekzone.co.nz/fault.asp (everyone with the problem).

We should all use this tool to submit faults. This is the only way we can gather enough information to show ISPs where problems are happening.

Same thing for me, but webmail works fine. Tried changing to mail.orcon, no joy either.

I would report it in that form Mauricio, but I connect through Xtra :)

We had a four hour outage yesterday.
It was resolved at 9.39pm, so you should be OK now.
Thanks, and sorry about the outage, Quentin

Thanx Quentin.

You should tell your CSRs when there is an outage so they don't tell people that there is no known problems..

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

That's the main reason we created the ISP Faults page. It's quite common for CSRs not to know about other people reporting similar faults in same region or nationwide. The ISP Faults page is an early warning for users and should be used as such...
