Looking for the best deal at the moment and almost always 2degrees comes out on top, yet I still haven't moved off Vodafone.

My own tipping point is simply coverage. At home I get no 3G coverage on Vodafone or 2degrees. In fact I barely get any coverage inside my house on either of these networks. I'm not that remote, on the Glen Eden side of Titirangi. A couple of streets away I get perfect 3G coverage.

For business reasons I needs a smart phone with good 3G coverage and know that whatever room I'm in whilst at home I won't be missing calls.

I'm shocked to say that at the moment my only option is Telecom which is a real pain as I want to use an Ideos X5 or X6 phone on my next upgrade.

So for other geekzoners what's stopping you?

If the only thing stopping you is coverage and it's as bad on VF as 2D then I'm puzzled as to why you're still on VF.

Personally, I've been on 2Degrees since the beginning and can't fault them. Now I'm on an Ideos X5 I'm a pig in you know what

Lack of no expiration date for data packs. I want one which won't expire after month/3months, 12 months is OK. if I don't use it all.

But that for all companies in NZ :( which does not make any difference for me who to stick with (8 years with Voda). I spend around $10 a month for calling (1-2 calls a month) and txting :) (looks like I'm not using it at all hehe), but that is enough.

So bring it on NO EXPIRE DATE data plan and I'm sold to 2Ds :)

I think it's fair to say that 'no expiry for data' isn't going to happen any earlier than 'no expiry for account' or 'no expiry for credit'. Accountants don't like having unlimited liabilities on their books. Engineers don't like having to cough up for licenses to carry accounts that haven't been touched in months.

I have an 0800 number attached to my cell that Vodafone provides, with a setup charge but not monthly fee. Also while I don't have a smart phone right now I want to use it anywhere in the country without paying a fortune for data.

That's why I mentioned that 12 months period would be OK as credit would only expire after 12 months. Why not delivery the same for data plans? That totally be huge advantage as carry over minutes (which last for an year) for 2Ds.

Data packs that didn't expire would be awesome. I'd buy bigger data packs as there'd be less risk of not using them.

I'm Prepaid and have a family deal with Vodafone.

$20 a month paid by someone with a Vodafone account. Links 4 mobiles, giving them best mate status to each other. So I pickup 3 best mates for $5 is what it comes down to. Add in one actual best mate to another phone I use a lot and I have 80% of my phone use 'for free' as such.

Currently with Telecom New Zealand. I thought many times of moving on, but thinking of those couple of times a year we visit Napier, and I think of having to roam on Vodafone, and paying more for data when there...

I come off my VF contract in August.

I will be walking into the VF shop on the day, giving them the finger. Telling em to fkc off with their disgusting prices and joining 2Degrees.

I think the tipping point will either be

1. A good deal on the X5
2. The Ideos X6 appears on the local market

Problem is coverage is pushing me over towards Telecom.
