I have moved over to 2 Degrees. I have consciously started using my new 022
number, because I want the caller to know I’m on the 2D network. I felt transferring my 021 number to 2D was
unfair on those that are trying to be careful on the telephony spending.
I would however like to be able to answer my 021 calls from
those that are unaware I have changed phone numbers. The two immediate options that come to mind
have a cost attached to them.
(a)
Have Vodafone transfer my calls to my 022
number. I would have to pay the
redirection call cost.
(b)
Purchase a second 2D sim and transfer my 021
number to this sim. Then redirect calls
to my 022 number. Again I would incur
the cost of each call that is transferred.
I’m thinking that 2D (are you listening) could offer a
service whereby they could offer a permanent redirection service for those that
come over to them from another provider.
What would be the cost to them to transfer all my 021 calls to my 022
number? I’m thinking it would cost them
nothing?
I cannot think how this idea could be misused, but perhaps I
will be enlightened soon?. However are
there not also benefits for 2D? They
offer a free redirection service if the customer want to use a 022 number. 2D customers start publishing there 022
number. Most times when I tell people
about my number change, they want to know more about 2 Degrees, so it must be
good word of mouth advertising for them?
So 2D – what do you think?
