Considering a VPN after the new law thats been passed. Just wondering what VPNs perform best on Slingshot and so on. Would really like someone to recommend me some :)

Also, do VPNs bypass slingshots throttling techniques?

I think Slingshot uses Deep Packet Inspection and Behavior Detection Technology, so no, but it might help with the trackers in finding peers and Slingshot intercepts your torrent information as put in CHOKE and CLOSE to slow and stop the torrents.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Behavior Detection Technology
Port-by-packet inspection can be carried by the packets can flow feature detection. Behavior detection is more complex flow identification technology, by analyzing the number of connections for various applications, a single IP connection mode, flow rate ratio between uplink and downlink data packet transmission rate and other indicators to differentiate between types of applications.

For example, in Internet telephony applications, voice and data packet length is usually more stable, relatively constant transmission frequency, P2P network applications more than the number of connections a single IP, the port number for each connection is different, file sharing, growing and stable data bags etc., these can be used to detect the characteristic features of the application of indicators. Behavior detection, can be used to predict unknown features of the flow field, but in general the agreement can not be accurately determined, but the results have lagged behind, hard real-time control.

Described above, a simple depth business analysis techniques used in a variety of individual, be pointed out that in many cases, the identification of business is the integrated use of multiple technologies. To packet-based feature detection, feature detection, supplemented by act, in order to achieve better results.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
That's what breaks new games on the network as they see the flow of packets and the Deep packet inspection can't ID the game, so calls it P2P.

I went to quite a bit of effort to get around the Slingshot Traffic Shaping,

Even using an L2TP VPN to one of my Servers in the US was throttling at around 120KB/s so now I've simply tried a USENET Service, however connecting on port 443 (SSL) and using Encrypted. It seems that Slingshot are not touching any SSL Traffic that actually is encrypted with SSL at all.

I am now getting around 1200KB/s Downstream.

Might want to remove that and PM the person who started this thread. People from slingshot do indeed read this forum.

I use SSH and a client to server port foward, via my seedbox to let my private trackers update. Because they see it as coming from the seedbox's IP, the local IP has to be put into utorrent or no incoming connections work as they try to hit the seedbox IP.

Works ok for scrapes and normal usage, but starting 8000 torrents at once come 2am puts so much thru the SSH that slingshot start to monkey around and spoof connection closed on the SSH TCP session. Staggering the starts solves that, and it will reconnect and work eventually on its own anyway.
