iOS 4.3.3 takes 4 hours to get!!!

Apple has released iOS 4.3.3 today, great I will get it now.

Only to discover it will take 4 hours to download it - 666.2MB file...

It only took less than 15 minutes when I was on Telecom broadband, which makes me wonder what's happening to Slingshot's caching system.

Anyone having similar issue?

Do the download overnight, it should be finished by the morning and won't count to your usage.

Time to find a new industry!

Pointless update too since apparently it only cuts down the amount of time location data is stored.

as well as not storing it at all if you have the option for "Location Services" disabled.

I find slingshot is getting slower, I'm on the AYCE plan and it's very very slow. Meh. Even youtube.

Downloaded the update at work in 6 minutes

Thats the problem with the IOS operating system, instead of providing you with a patch, which probably wouldn't be any bigger than a couple of MB, they require you to download and install an entire copy of the OS. Imagine if microsoft did that each time they released their patches. It will possibly only get worse when apple allow over the air IOS software updating, and people will be using their mobile data to do this. I'm not going to bother updating to this version of the IOS.

I actually like the location caching "bug" as I get to see my holidays from all around the world! Sad to see it go actually - plotted my locations from my iPhone into Google Earth and looked really cool! :(

Yea the actual download was fast for me - I'm hesitating to install it though!

Yea stop and restart it or you are trying to download at high use time. I downloaded it last night at about 6 and it took 10 min. But I'm on the 40gb plan not ayce

If you check the release notes and find there's nothing you want in the update, nothing is stopping you from canceling it and waiting for the next one.

But it has been seen in the past that Apple don't put some things in the release notes. E.g. Battery life improvements and UI changes
