Looks like many issues with Orcon in this forum so as an Orcon business subscriber with phone lines through Orcon and an Orcon home user can anybody help get my Orcon problems solved?

Orcon at home is fine with 1 phone line and broadband through the Mt Albert switch but based on that experience I shortsightedly signed up my business to Orcon in August last year.

The business has 3 lines connecrted by two copper lines to the switch. One line is an analog line with broadband ADSL+. The 2nd line is digital and operates through the modem. The third line is analog and shared between a fax and EFTPOS machine plus calling. All 3 lines are accessed through a Panasonic PBX.

To date few of the issues I've reported have been resolved and weeks now elapsed since my last call to "customer service" which was to be responded to the next day.

First issue is I can't send a fax to the USA. I know faxes are old school but some companies prefer it for  receiving an order and a fax line was part of the agreement.
The fax is connected to a analog line shared with an EFTPOS machine. It always worked OK until I shifted over to Orcon. I've been told twice that the engineers are looking onto the issue and will report back the next day but the next day never comes. The fax is answered but the line hangs up after a brief exchange handshake routine.

Now I've started I might as well ask about why the digital 2nd line accessed through the modem is deemed suitable for a business. Over time the noise on the line builds up and eventually goes dead. The router needs to then be rebooted. This happens every couple of days. Is this to be expected?

Issue #3 During calls if there is another incoming call on the same line, the call waiting tone interrupts the call, masking part of the caller's voice. I don't have call waiting and have asked for the tone to be removed to no avail.

Any suggestions as to how any of these issues can be sorted is appreciated. Meanwhile I don't recommend Orcon as a viable business solution to phone & broadband.

My 2c worth.

Stephen

Hate to say it, but the physical lines do that too. By some wizardry my home is provisioned with one UBA line and one LLU line, and the LLU line quite frequently has horrible noise that drowns out calls, making it near impossible to use.
