first of all, apologies if this has been asked before, i have searched and not found an answer,
just want to know why a speedtest.net result is so different to my isp(slingshot) result. Just performed one now and speedtest gave me 2.23mbps down and slingshot 16.03mbps down, both upload results about the same 0.63.
This is not something which is causing me sleepless nights ! just very interested to know the answer..

Are you using a NZ server for the speedtest test? I get the same results from slingshot and speedtest when using an NZ server.

I get something similar, previously speedtest.net used to give me ~14mbps download yet these days I only get 2.1mbps. While at the same time, on speedtest.slingshot.co.nz I get ~14mbps.

It could be some new limitation at slingshot.

FYI, I am using a NZ server.

when using the speedtest.net its hosted by' world exchange' Auckland so would have thought it would be similar result...codingmonkey having same issue i guess...oh well a mystery
