I'm just about to port my wifes number from 2Degrees (due to my employer funding our connection Smile) and was wondering if there was a way to donate the remaining credit to the Christchurch fund or similar?

If it's prepay you can give it to someone else on 2D

Only up to $20/mo, apart from sending a lot of text messages to the Red Cross line, I don't think it's possible.

Maybe the me2u should have some default charities to make it easier.

Think you'll find it's $100/month

"*Me2U and U2Me services are available on Prepay only. The amount of credit transferred must be in whole dollar amounts between $2 and $20. Maximum amount of credit that can be transferred in any month is $100.

Oh wow, I'm completely blind, so disregard most of my other reply to this thread.

Still reckon it'd be nice to do say: "starship*20" to the me2u number for select charities, even if say 50c/$1 was taken off as a fee for doing it. (That said, what is the retail margin for prepaid vouchers anyway, guess it could be an expensive exercise for the likes of 2D).
