What monthly plan it's giving more texts and data? I haven't seen any promotion/advertising. Cheers

We all went from 1000 -> 2500 texts a few weeks back! :-)

Do I need to mention that because I am on a plan I receive the benefits first? Unlike other networks (VF) ... I know winge winge!

Whats is better; they don't create another plan that is similar; but not so similar and I don't get lost at which one is better. Also... you do not have to ask for the upgrade.

Sorry 2D but that is still a fail, minutes and data usage are not linear, give us better data packs so we can build ourselves a useable smartphone plan

To be honest id be with 2degrees if they had more flexible data packs too.
$28 on XT gives me 480mb data and 5000 texts on a smartphone plan. I dont need this many texts, but the data is the right amount. On 2degrees monthly plan or prepaid i can't get this much data.
Broadband zones mobile broadband don't count - I'm not in zone and even if i was i'd have to pay more if i left it.

+1

Sorry - they do something positive for the customer and pass it on to all eligible customers without being asked and you still give them a fail. You sound like you're a teacher! Laughing

They do so much for their customers, unlike the others who just seem to do plans to maximise profits for themselves.

If you are in certain cities you can add the data on cheaply. Elsewhere they're some what constricted due to having to roam on anothers network.

Love to know your views on the other telco's... They must be abysmal fails!

I would be happy to continue paying my $29 month plus add say $10 for a reasonable data pack bringing the monthly spend in line with the other current market offerings, I am currently blowing my 50mb national data in a matter of days and then having to buy a $20 MBB of which I cannot consume more than 400mb before it expires each month. At $29 + $20 per month 2D are not competitive pricewise. jumping up a plan still doesn't give a usable increase in data for the added cost

FWIW yes of course i have opinions on the other telco's, XT offer a nice $40 no contract plan with a usable 500mb data allowance, the downside is my phone is not 850mhz WCDMA so having to buy new hardware is holding me off going this route, VF's smart 1 plan (which according to their website is their most popular plan) again offers a viable option but the 24mth lock down is holding me off at present.

I hear the same gripes as mine all the time regarding data addons and 2D are not taking heed, if current situation doesn't change I will migrate across to another telco and i doubt i will be the only one.

I hear that mobile phones can be used for calling too. Does your $40 xt plan give you more than 220 minutes?

I just had a look at that plan; 50 minutes and 300 texts, yawn... It looks like this is a war of the smarphone plans; not everybody calls anymore it seems.

You could go on the $19 prepay plan and buy the 1GB BB pack; thats $39 and you will get 2x the data and 8x the texts, but your giving up 20 minutes of calling. Assuming your in the broadband zone.

not everyone will be pleased with 2degrees, that is a fact. you should move away from 2degrees if it cannot offer what you need.

one point that you should consider. 2degrees is a not a charity. it will not be able to provide cheap data on roaming networks

Why don't you drop down to Prepay, then get the $19 combo + $20 1GB data pack. That's a pretty sweet deal if you want a lot more data than you do minutes.

@ Nakedmolerat - I am within the MBB, so roaming should not come into it, sell me a $10 data pack with a data allowance aligned for "normal" smartphone use. I do not expect charity from 2D just suitable plans and add-ons for the hardware they sell and have these costs in line with the competition

@ SteveON - 50 minutes on XT can go a lot further than 60 2D minutes for the small cost of a favourites add-on, 90% of my outgoing calls are to the wife, likewise skype, viber etc allow you to effectively turn data into minutes quite efficiently

@ amanzi - nice response, was the same as a previous response from 2D themselves, but while it runs nicely off the tongue refer to my original comments, I struggle to get through half of that in a month so $39 effectively buys me 30mins + ~400mb, yes you compete on cost but the value is simply not there when compared to XT or VF's offerings

I appreciate everybody uses technology differently and no two peoples demands will be the same but 2D cannot continue to ignore the need for smartphone friendly data packs surely?
