Anyone know of any new 2degrees towers proposed for auckland?

I'm really hoping for Pukekohe.

I know 2degrees has recently co-loed in Beachlands on the Vodafone tower.

What would be particularly useful would be having 900mhz HSDPA on the auckland fringes too. EDGE on the edge of auckland isn't fun.

West auckland has many places that are roaming onto vodafone or are a blackspot. I would rather see that sorted then them do rural areas to be honest.

West Akld fringe reception was a key factor in my recent changing to VF, data on edge was basically unusable, likewise I was in and out of the akld broadband zone even between Albany and Riverhead. Likewise i was roaming on VF out at  Muriwai. I would love to be wrong but I suspect the emphasis will be on developing their network nationwide before they fill in the Auckland 2D blackspots or even just extend cover.

2degrees don't have enough 900MHz spectrum to deploy both GSM and UMTS.

Do they have any 1800 to run GSM on? Better that gets stuck with the crap frequency than HSPA IMO.

Don't we?

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

When are 2D upgrading to HSPA+.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Well maybe if you want a low capacity network! Smile

i wonder how all those competing networks get on overseas? I think NZ doesn't need anywhere near the bandwith of say... England.
