Since the unmetered weekend started my internet has been borderline unusable. I can't visit certain domains at all (i.imgur.com is an example) and my downloads are either horribly slow or won't start at all. Speed tests give me around 0.2-0.4mbps, both national and international. Steam is ridiculously slow:

Browsing is actually acceptable in speed, but as mentioned above many sites simple won't load.

Snap staff are publicly claiming on forums that everything is peachy but if you ring support they will tell you that there are issues and they're working on it.

I have only been a Snap customer for a few days. Prior to this weekend my speeds were ok, not great. I wanted to take advantage this free weekend to fill out some of my Steam catalog but that's not going to happen.

My experience as a Snap customer so far has been overwhelmingly negative. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ISP.

Everyone will be taking advantage of the Free weekend on Snap, I suggest you find something else to do.

Yeah it's definitely slower than usual, but that was too be expected. Snap are actually awesome IMO. I use steam as well and a good way to download a whole bunch of games is buy their uncapped nights for $5. You get three nights uncapped from 1am to 7am and it works a charm. The last time I used it I downloaded about 60gb worth of games.

As you were told in the GP forums, speeds are peachy for everyone except you, aside from a latency issue that started happening in the last half an hour which is being fixed. There are many happy customers enjoying full speed downloads atm with no issues so thumbs up Snap!

Wow! Free full speed Internet with no hint of slowdown. This is a regular ping:

$ ping reddit.com
PING reddit.com (69.22.138.145) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 69.22.138.145: icmp_req=1 ttl=53 time=179 ms
64 bytes from 69.22.138.145: icmp_req=2 ttl=53 time=189 ms
64 bytes from 69.22.138.145: icmp_req=3 ttl=53 time=176 ms
64 bytes from 69.22.138.145: icmp_req=4 ttl=53 time=182 ms
64 bytes from 69.22.138.145: icmp_req=5 ttl=53 time=178 ms

...executed while downloading international traffic at 10Mbit/s.

Snap, this is very impressive!

PS: After midnight I found it necessary to buy 1GB of data to turn off rate limiting.

No problems here, got The Witcher 2 from steam at full rate.

Thanks Snap!

To get a guage of the maximum sort of speeds you are capable of getting what are your ADSL sync stats?

So far I am getting my line synch speed, I did not notice any speed difference since yesterday. Thank you Snap :)

I think there may actually have been an issue with i.imgur.com today as I could not reach it either (I'm on TelstraClear), and punching it into one of those 'down for everyone or just me' sites found it was unreachable too.
