I have a standard Nokia phone that I use no data on, and a MiFi device for using my iPod out and about. I currently have a post pay plan for my phone, and a prepay sim for my data.

I noticed my postpay plan has a little bit of mobile data, 100MB, which is really all I need for a month. Is it possible to get a second SIM on my postpay account to use this data, rather than having two accounts? They're used at the same time.

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

It "can" be done via sim duplication, but if the catch you doing this...

It would be great to see all Telcos offer this, to allow Data allowance to be shared across devices. When I'm using the data connection on my laptop (or tablet if I had one), I'm unlikely to be wanting to use data on my smartfone

If the sim card was cloned, you could only use it one at a time. If both were detected on the network i'm guessing it would set off some alarm bells on 2degrees end.
Plus its probably against the TOS.

UpGrade your phone to something like an X5 Ideos which has WiFi Hotspot as a firmware upgrade option.... problem solved..

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I just wanted to know if there was an easy way to do it that 2degrees supported. My current system's easiest, and I like the hardware I have. I might get an Android phone or iPhone in a year or two, but I like my physical keyboard so maybe I won't bother.

i do rember a while ago one of the big players was allowing prepay to be billed onto post pay accounts i never looked into it at the time but i would asume a simalar setup could be of use and ADDED VALUE SERVICE that 2d could look into providing.

This is something for the telco's to think about. It would be great to be able to use your phone plan's data with tablet's and the PS Vita when it come's out.
