Seconded, txt from Telecom isn't arriving reliably. Multipart messages aren't arriving at all, or one part is. Individual messages sometimes arrive, sometimes don't.

Edit - AGAIN. 2degrees has had more problems in the 1-2 months i've been with them than I had with Vodafone in 7 years.

I too had this issue as well with a new sim that I got for a new phone today. The phone could receive a text (from my 2d phone) but when I sent 3 out to give people the new phones number my credit went down, the phone stated sent but no one has received the texts (I know as I was also one of the intended recipients).

There was an SMS delay issue that affected some customers that started about 18:00 last night and was resolved at 23:40. Apologies for the inconvenience.

What is 2degrees doing to prevent this happening again? This is the third outage since I joined 2degrees a couple of months ago.

Can you think of any reason people should stay with 2degrees, given the continued problems?

Texts were delayed for 6 hours, hardly earth shattering is it. Think people need to assess their priorities if this makes it on the radar of things that matter.

Without wanting to sound like I'm fobbing you off with some meaningless weasel words, there are in fact several things that we are working on. However, all of them involve working with the respective vendors, and some of them are not actually in the direct path, as it were, of SMS, even though they can interfere with bits that are.

I am not able to go into any real detail in a public forum. But rest assured, there are things in progress.

They do give more calling minutes, 220 compared with 120 on Vodafone.

Txt is an important method of communication for many people, especially the younger generation. Of course people can call if it's important, but it's like a slow, background conversation with your partner if they're not in the same place as you.

Once wouldn't be an issue. Three failures in two months shows reliability is poor.

Thanks Salty, good to hear things are being done, but still three failures in two months shows the reliability isn't there yet.

2deg is good value, and i'd like to stay with them, but i'd rather have a reliable means of communication. I don't have a home phone, so my cell is my main way of communicating, that and Skype.

It's probably more appropriate to say that reliability was there, but we have recently hit some unexpected bottlenecks.

That's an interesting distinction, for engineers, but less so for customers.

After the last failure I said i'd give 2 degrees another chance. How many chances do I give them before I give up and switch to a proven reliable service? I didn't know about the peering problems with 2degrees txt before I joined either, not that it makes much difference to me.
