Just did a speed test from my laptop and am now getting >300k uploads on 2degrees in Auckland!
HSUPA must be live in auckland!

Can anyone else confirm?

These results are from a 2degrees tower in east auckland near a shopping mall with presumably a fibre connection (it has no microwave dishes on it)
I can't believe how good the download is! I did manage to get 7mbps down on XT once but that wasn't in a city and was not too long after the network was turned on.

I wonder if this will be rolled out to existing auckland sites?

Vodafone should be worried.

I believe it's on for all of Auckland now.

Not bad to be only 2Mb slower when we're only on 7.2Mb vs. 42Mbps. :-P

OK then so Publius can say Vodafone " should be worried " but I can't show a speedtest on Vodafone showing our speed is fine?

No. I have already received many complaints about telco employees hijacking discussions.

Just so I can be clear sorry don't mean to hijack this thread I can post in off topic if you like?

Rule is on Geekzone that Telco employees are not allowed to post in other Telco threads?

I would rather not have this conversation in here, because is very off topic. But the idea is that one shouldn't go into other company's thread and trumpet "mine is better than yours" or trying to pull the customers - it happened here before and the other company was warned.

Now back on topic or I just lock this.

Whilst the Speed Test results on 2 degrees are good, isn't it an unfair comparison when Vodafone has five times the number of customers - just saying.

This is not a 2degrees vs Vodafone debate. It's about 2degrees HSUPA.

If you or anyone else wants to debate, start another thread. Another comment like this and this discussion is locked.

Who's their upstream provider?

HSUPA allows for faster upload and better ping times etc, the upstream provider has very little to do with these speedtest results as the Auckland servers are all carried over APE (Internet Exchange). The improvements are in the Mobile Network.
