Hi,

I am heading to Australia again soon. Last time I was there, I bought a VF Aus SIM card at the airport. It worked fine for voice and SMS, but when it came to accessing the Internet I couldn't do it. I checked the VF Aus website and it said I needed to input an APN.

Would someone be kind enough to explain (very slowly) what an APN is (I think it's a password? I see 2degrees' APN is "internet") and how I go about inputting it into my phone when I arrive?
Thanks! Cool

Thanks! Coincidentally, I left the 2degrees coverage zone this week to go to the central North Island, where I was "nationally roaming" on Vodafone. Voice and SMS worked a treat but I had to ring up and get the VF APN to get data access working.

Has anyone else had this issue? I use an iPhone 3.

In 2degrees coverage, if you leave your APN blank we will default you to 'internet'. But of course that doesn't work if you're not in our coverage.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

Ah thanks Salty. Hopefully now that I've typed in the APN manually there will be no need to do it again when I travel north of Wellington.
