I just saw a "Network Busy" when I tried to make a call at 8pm Sunday evening, from Johnsonville, Wellington. It only lasted 5 minutes, it just seemed weird as it hardly seems like a peak time.

If the network's busy in such an off peak time, how would it be in an emergency? 2degrees is my sole phone line, other than broadband, but TC Broadband doesn't work when there's a power cut.

There was most likely a bug or something being worked on. Sorry but I believe that your post is a waste of time. I work in Jville and never have an issue during the week when network load would be much higher. Not to mention the quality of the 3G is superb.

My post was just asking what's going on... maintenance, a glitch, overloading, etc.

If the network is busy wait a few minutes not really worth starting a thread on gz

Fair enough... I was just curious about why it'd be so busy at an off peak time, wondered if it was happening anywhere else. I've just never seen that message before, not in all the years i've used cell phones.

I dont think 2D would know why it was busy - perhaps there was a good movie on that everyone wanted to txt their mum about...

Erm, no it wasn't. Your point was you've never had an issue, so there are never issues with 2degrees.

How about helping the OP with their query rather than blindly trumpeting the never failing 2degrees?

FWIW I'm unaware of any issues on Sunday that might cause that error. Generally speaking however Network Busy is caused by systems outside my control, so your mileage may vary.

There was a fairly popular rugby game in town that night, so I imagine there were likely a few more calls being made across the Welly network that night as people organised hooking up with mates at pubs/houses or one the way to the game..

Don't know, but it might be a reason....

There were no reported network issues reported in or around Johnsonville last night.  I guess you rebooted your phone and put the SIM in another phone.

No I just waited and it was working 10 mins later when I tried.
