Decided to sign up with Orcon this month, switch over from Telecom Xtra.

What a joke,

Signed up via the online form, filled out the form, got an email telling me they'd let me know when it was going to be hooked up.

Got an email about 5 days later saying there was a problem and couldn't be hooked up because ... "something went wrong and it was probably because the phone number hadn't been hooked up yet".... um right, good one Orcon.

Called them, spoke to one guy who didn't have a clue and was almost rude so he just fobbed me off to a 'new sign ups queue'

The girl I spoke to was very helpful but couldn't work out why it failed so signed me up again on the phone, confirmed all the details and was very lovely.

Got an email a day later with a hook up date on the 15th and all was well.

Got an email a day or so later saying my modem had been sent to my address. Except Wrong apartment number, correct street number.

Emailed them, got an answer a few days later saying that I had signed for it already (no I hadn't) and could I contact the other apartment to get it or call the courier company (sure i'll run around for you since i'm begging you to be a customer).

Called the courier company, they say nothing they can do as they delivered it correctly.

Tried to contact the other apartment, no luck so far.

Orcon also sent me a "how are we doing survey", clicked the link "invalid survey or expired"

Nice one Orcon, I had this crap when I was with you guys 4 years ago, thought you might have sorted it by now!!!

Guess i'm not going to have internet after the 15th....

On a side note, did you happen to come here and read through the Orcon sign-up threads before you made the move? It might have steered you away...
