Seems that slingshots speeds are a hot topic on this forum! Im just curious about other Slingshot customers service in Christchurch. Slow seems to be the only thing i can say about the service even for basic web browsing. Youtube or anything else is a waste of time. Do i have the slowest service in the area?

Download 0.27m/bs
Upload 0.13m/bs
Latency 37ms

This is the best result i have had so far sent to a wellington NZ server on Speedtest, net

Anyone got slower?

To be honest the speeds you have posted mean nothing at all

The INFO that is helpful is in your modem, line stats, Modem sync rate

Most speed issues are due to poor house wiring and other things outside of the ISP control

What basic fault checking have you done?

Downstream                                 Upstream
C/Speed      22206 kbps                  893 Kbps
Line Att       10.5db                        6.1db
Noise Margin 11.6 db                      12.2db

Pretty sure this is what you mean? House is brand new so wiring should be ok. Done the ping test etc on speedtest.net. Is there anything else that i can do? ISP speeds is somthing that ive never really needed to look into in the past so i am most likely missing somthing.

I'm in shirley, christchurch.

Slingshot has been going slow for me too lately, just real out of the blue, that also came with dissconnections every five seconds which seems to have been fixed with a new modem.

can someone from slingshot tell us what's going on?
We've just called up to change to the new 50GB plan so maybe that'll fix it.

speedtest to slingshot's server just now:
Download Speed: 1111 kps (138.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 688 kps (86 KB/sec transfer rate)
Jitter: 3 ms
Latency: 39 ms
Test Server: nz-akl

Modem stats:
Mode:ADSL2+ Type:Fast Line Coding:Trellis On Status:No Defect Link Power State:L0   DownstreamUpstreamSNR Margin (dB):12.3 11.7 Attenuation (dB):7.5 1.2 Output Power (dBm):17.7 12.6 Attainable Rate (Kbps):20832 809 Rate (Kbps):20435 816 MSGc (number of bytes in overhead channel message):75 17 B (number of bytes in Mux Data Frame):254 24 M (number of Mux Data Frames in FEC Data Frame):1 1 T (Mux Data Frames over sync bytes):2 3 R (number of check bytes in FEC Data Frame):0 0 S (ratio of FEC over PMD Data Frame length):0.3985 0.9662 L (number of bits in PMD Data Frame):5119 207 D (interleaver depth):1 1 Delay (msec):0 0

I have some mates on Slingshot with similar issues in Upper Riccarton, very slow speeds (like, I don't bother with wifi and use Mobile instead) - Checked their modem stats and they are getting 19.9mbit down and 847kb/sec up sync.

It doesn't seem to be backhurl since I am getting about what I am synced at on Telecom:

But for now, this seems to be yet another "Slingshot is slow" thread. Is this happening all the time? eg, if you did a test at 11pm vs 11am do you see a mark in improvement?

I see a small mark of improvement after 10 O'clock but it is minimal! I am looking at Snap! or Telecom looking more at Snap at the moment. I dont mind waiting a min or two for a youtube video to buffer but it took me almost 3 mins to load the Nek Minnit video what is 0:09 seconds to show the girlfriend

I guess either TC or any provider with ucll would be a good choice
