I have an iPhone and I use the 2degrees mobile broadband packs when I'm in town, but because I live right on the cutoff of 2degrees service, my phone tries to use data on Vodafone even though I've locked out national data. This results in a text message saying '2degrees alert You can't connect because you're out of credit or have no National Data Pack available. To buy a National Pack top up & text 'buy 50mb' to 233.' And as I have an iPhone, it tries to use data constantly to check for notifications etc when on standby. I have at least 200 of these messages saved on my phone because I get them so often. Is there anyway I can solve this until the Vodafone towers get locked out? I also still have to manually connect to 2degrees every time I try to use my MBB pack.

What is it you're after exactly? A way to prevent connecting to Vodafone, or to just not get the texts?

I'd be glad if I could find a solution to either.

Well, to prevent connecting to Vodafone, lock your handset to 2degrees. The other is not currently possible.

When I manually lock to 2degrees, it stays locked for a few minutes before switching back to vodafone.

just turn data off under settings -> general -> network -> cellular data network when you're in a place you don't want to use data? wouldn't be too bad unless you're frequently going in and out of those areas

Not really locked to Vodafone, then. :) I live in marginal coverage too, also with an iPhone.  Thats what I do when I want to urge sure I can be contacted. For data I just use wifi.

Unless its a bug this does not work, I can lock my phone to 2degrees and will still find its way onto VF if I leave 2deg coverage
