Don't suppose there is any chance 2 Degrees would offer another txt pack for people who haven't a hope in hell of using 2500 txts a month :) :)

eg: maybe a 1000 txts for $5 :) :)

Good idea?? Bad idea??

I would love that, that's the main reason I have just moved from 2degrees, the $10 text pack was just far too much for me (I use 200-300 per month), I'm now on Slingshot who have a 500 text pack for $7 (min $10 spend though).

yea, I was on the $19 pack from 2D but figured since I almost never make voice calls I would cancel that and just buy a TXT and data pack instead saving myself $3 a mth (Yea, I know it not much but it will add up)..
I would be lucky to do 200 txts a mth, so the 2500 is waay over the top for me.

Slingshot do a 500 text pack and a 100MB data pack for $15 and if you sign for 6 months you get a free phone, that's what I have just signed up for, Slingshot resell Telecom's XT network and you can keep your number.

Can you provide a link? I looked on their site http://www.slingshot.co.nz/mobile
and that comes out to $7 + $8 + $10? Unless I misunderstood...

Simple reality is there is no incentive for them to do so. Mobile providers would go bust if everybody started spending $5 a month, and to be brutally honest a $5 a month customer is an unprofitable one.

It's $15 for 500 texts and 100MB of data, but if you just want want the texts you still have to spend a minimum of $10 per month, ie if you buy the $7 text pack and nothing else you still be charged $10.

Better value for those of us who want a cheap plan for a little bit of texts and some data. If 2degrees introduced something like 500 texts for $5 I would change back and use that plus a $6 data pack.

Personally I would think if there was enough of us "smaller txt" people wanting this then maybe 2 Degrees would gives us what we want, this would then maybe stop people migrating to other providers.
Like what would be better, having lots of smaller txt users, who have a smaller data cap, or losing customers to other providers because the other providers do have the smaller data cap..
