It has been over 2 months now since Snap made IPv6 available to the man on the street...how many of you are running IPv6 in your homes & businesses?

I'd also be interested to know what setup you are using... i.e have you set up an internal addressing system? or does each of your devices have an externally accessible address?

Just thought I would give it a go with my Snap connection... But seems to hard. Coupled with the fact that I can't remember the IP6 format...

Anyway, my VDSL modem has an IP6 addy, my router has a few IP6 addy's, my computers/devices all have IP6 addy's but Windows clients saying IP6 not working...

My router, which assigns addresses to everyone seems to not have a IP6 DHCP server? Therefore my clients are not set automatically., ie no gateway or DNS addresses.

I think I might flag it... Put it in the to hard basket for now.

i tried it with the Fritz box and although Snap says they come ready to use IPv6 , i found i had to fiddle around with settings to get it to work, but it seems to work now and it is telling me im connected through IPv6 . ( if you are working on a support page could you put in that you have to change the network.dns.disableIPv6;setting from true to false in About:config, it took me a while to find the instructions but it was the reason why i couldnt get it to work.)

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Happily running IPv6 at home, probably the majority of my traffic goes via IPv6 these days since I use a VPS in the US which also has native IPv6. The main thing I'm still waiting on is static/sticky prefixes instead of the prefix changing if my connection drops.

Yeah, not understanding why they can't assign static prefixes. It's not like there's a shortage of v6 addresses! (yet!)

i had to turn it on in the settings of the Fritz box when it arrived and even though it was telling me it was enabled in my LAN settings i couldnt get the running unicorn to appear it wasn't until i went into about. config and changed it. this is the site to check its working

I am running IPv6 through my Cisco 877 on Snap - it's working well. As for IPv6 traffic I just pass it through to the computers so they each have a globally accessible address, comes in handy since I have a domain pointed to my home with AAAA records for my server.

All my servers have native IPv6 (Linode) so comes in handy :)

Running ipv6 in our office, seems good apart from the dynamic ipv6 addresses.
