2 degrees roaming to vodafone in nz

I'm looking at buying a 2 degrees mobile, but still unsure exactly what it means in practice for 'roaming to vodafone' when 2 degrees is unavailable.

For instance - Do data and call charges increase when 'roaming to vodafone'? If so, by how much?

Presuming the phone is capable, 3G is still available when 'roaming to vodafone'?

I get that the 'mobile broadband' pack pricing is unavailable when 'roaming to vodafone' but that is all I am 100% certain about.

You can get all the pricing info off the website. But, briefly, if you have a broadband pack and you go into overage under canopy, it's 10c/MB. At all other times, it's 50c/MB.

Voice calls & SMS cost the same while Vodafone roaming.

Of lesser importance, if i put a vodafone prepay or account sim into a phone sold by 2 degrees is that likely to work directly on vodafone without any mods to the phone?

Yes. Vodafone & 2degrees use the same GSM & UMTS bands. Phones sold by us will work no problem on Vodafone & vice versa. The odd one out is Telecom. Most of their phones will work fine on Vodafone & 2degrees, but Vodafone & 2degrees phones will not necessarily work on Telecom.

As answered earlier the phone 'raoming' should be seemlesss and wont cost any extra.

You can buy 2degrees "National data packs" $6=50mb $10=100mb
These are usable anywhere. ie roaming onto VF or within 2degrees network as well. So those packs would be 'seemless'.

The 2degrees zone packs are obviously much cheaper but will only work within 2degrees coverage areas. They do have quite a lot of the main centres covered now though.

I presume their system is clever enough to work out that if you had say a $5/50mb National pack and a $20 1GB 2degrees pack and you were within the 2degrees 3G area it should take the data from the cheaper 2degrees pack.
