can't send mms or sms if 3g turned on after upgrade

My brother upgraded my galaxy ace to 2.3.5 and now when 3g is on it will not send pxt or txt to anyone. It will keep coming up 'FAILED' .
Have just gone through the settings from this page and it still won't send....Help please

3G is turned on/appear in the status bar because the phone is trying to send the mms
have you checked the APN?

sorry i think i wrote it a bit weird...I meant when 3g is on it wont send txt or pxt but when i turn it off I can send a txt.
