Slingshot are a pain when it comes to setting up a new connection.
My olds have changed to Slingshot and where told there connection would be ready on 2nd Dec,
that came and went and so we called them up to see what was going on.
The helpdesk guy said that they where lacking some infomation and went off to find out what it was
and returned staying sorry and they didn't need any more info and the connection would happen on the 8th.
Well the 8th came and went and the onlt thing we got was it's now going to be connected on the 12th.

Mean while all this time the phone line has been half converted to Slingshot, so people who phone up when nobody is arround get answered by the slingshot answer phone, which is great, but we don't have access to the answer phone service or any of the slingshot easy phone features. So people could be leaving message and we have no way to tell or collect these message.
Make is worse than not having it at all.

Pretty disapointed but some how, not totally supprised that it didn't work seemlessly.

Thanks John for that, they also have a helpdesk, if you had read that thread you speak of, they also say the will be monitoring the whole geekzone Slingshot Callplus forum group.

Limiting all problems to just one thread is a big cheeky as it limits the scope of errors that Slingshot are having.
A quick glance of the Slingshot Calplus geekzone forum would only show a few threads of issues,, when the reality is they have more people with problems than depicted by the number of threads.

It should be resolved on the 12th, unless they say oh it will be another few days or so. So what can Slingshot do apart to make sure nobody else gets some of there phone services caught in limbo.

Hi

We are constantly refining process to help prevent these sort of issues, however the issues that keep raising their ugly head are issues that are created by a external 3rd party provider. While this doesn't get us off the hook we are still pushing to improve these sort of issues.

I dont fully understand your question here?

Agreed, no reason why anyone cant start their own thread about their own concerns or problems they will also get looked at.

If the phone service is provided by Slingshot then the voice mail service is provided by them as well.

At the moment, if I call my olds from my Slingshot homeline, the call after 20 seconds is picked up by the Slingshot voice mail services. My olds don't get a notice on there line saying they have new messages (that beep beep beep before dialtone), they also cant dial *55 to access voice mail.

There is also no caller ID logged with the phone calls I make and accessing last caller via *51 like the *55 and other codes gives a no such number.
Cellphone calls don't get picked up by the Slingshot answer phone service.
The also didn't have an answer phone service provided by Telstra/Clear.

They are managing to get some calls but I know that some are also not possible.

Again another deadline has come and gone and DSL has not changed and they are getting a very poor quality phone service.

We have no options but to wait while the telcos play pass the buck.

Update: They say it will be tomorrow and that it was due to shifting from Telstra/Clear To Slingshot via Telecom. My Olds have been loosing calls due to this problem. But tomorrow they will have someone manually perform the setup. Why they didn't do that automatically after the first two times they failed there connection dates and why did we have to call them Slingshot to find out why it wasn't working.

Not a very good start and we are very disappointed with Slingshot, to have lost the ability to receive some phone calls is a major pain.

I hope tomorrow it finally gets connected and we can move on.

Thats not good sounds like theres some fault there with the line, Have you logged it with the helpdesk yet? If so PM me the account and I can arrange for someone to look into this.

Caller ID should be working Unless the caller has blocked caller ID, becuase *51 and *55 don't work I suspect theres major issues possibly even a crossed line.

Theres no reason why cellphone calls don't work, if they don't it sounds like the cellphone provider or providers have no updated their ported number database to show this number is now with slingshot.
This is usually a quick fix when the offending provider is notified.

I'm not 100% sure what your saying here, but when you migrate to the slingshot network you get all the free features by default EG: Voicemail, CallerID, CallerID block etc.

Sounds like a porting issues and customers should not have to suffer.

That was relating to the question from Mauricio.

Today has come and gone and still not connected, emailed Bevin the account details. hope he can help sort this out.

Calls that are not making it through are calls from Slingshot homelines to this new Slingshot connection.

Another deadline has passed and still the internet and homeline have not been changed.

My old are unable to receive calls from other Slingshot customers, so no phone calls from there children, no phone calls from their grandchildren and no other xmas calls from others.

But Slingshot have managed to send out a bill for there call sucking no internet service.

Merry Xmass Slingshot, I hear Santa has a lump of coal for you.
