I've got one of the black 7.2 Mbps 2degrees Huawei modems that is set up and running fine. I also have a Draytek Vigor 2820n ADSL/wifi router that can use a 3G modem as a backup. I'd like to give that a try.

Does anyone happen to know the settings to use to get the 2degrees modem to connect from the router? It has options for modem init string, APN name, dial string and PPP username/password.

So far I've tried the defaults and setting the APN name to "2degrees" or "internet", and at the moment I'm nutting through the Sakis3G package mentioned in the Linux sticky at the top of the forum to see if it fills in anything useful.

Thanks for that - it turns out a firmware update on the router and I'm in business! Nice one :)
