Hey Guys,

So my current iPhone 3GS doesnt have the best reception at home, works on Telecom but not on Vodafone or 2 degrees.  I plan on switching to 2 Degrees, so after a new cell phone.

Was thinking the LG Optimus P970 or a Samsung Glalaxy Ace

Does any one have any knowledge or experience with these choices?

Cheers in advance for anyhelp!

Where abouts are you. If I recall correctly the 3GS has 3G at 2100 which is the 3G frequency that Vodafone and 2degrees have mainly deployed in the main centres. If you are in a main centre and can't get 3G on your 3GS with Vodafone or 2degrees then getting a new phone probably won't help with reception on these networks. Further if you can't even get 2G coverage with Vodafone or 2degrees on your 3GS, then this would suggest that the only network available at your place is XT, and that this is unlikely to change with a different handset.

My advice would be to buy a $5 2degrees SIM and see if you get 2G coverage on your 3GS before splashing out and buying a new phone that may not work on XT, when that may be the only network available to you.
