I have a basic Orcon Genius account (non-business, individual account) and would like to go beyond the basic HTML webserver via USB hard drive.

Since Port Forwarding is disabled on Orcon, is there a way of connecting to a web-server via networking from the USB connection on the router using a USB-Ethernet adaptor OR some Direct Connection Cable (DCC) to identify my PC rather than a USB hard drive ?

It is for private use and not business related.

Much appreciated.

Port forwarding is not disabled on the Orcon Genius units.
If youre seeing it being disabled, then somethings not right...

Appreciate the quick response...

Have been mucking around to get it going but nothing happens.

- disabled firewall (to ensure it does not bother)
- started webserver on port 8888
- Port Fowarded to  external-ip/test/ to internal-ip on port 8888

checked it from outside but nothing happens... i must have missed something if what you say is correct.

 Thanks...will keep trying.

Also make sure your PC's firewall is not blocking incoming connection on that port. And make sure the port forward is going to the correct IP address.
