Hey guys,
I have just got 2x 2degrees 7.2mbps modems (model huawei E173s-2) and just realized that they may not be 900mhz HSDPA compatible (ie when roaming on Vodafone network). Googling doesn't really show any details about this model and there is no documentation in the packet. Anyone can confirm/deny this?

From "Choice Mobile" who are a dealer for 2degrees. The packaging etc. is all 2degrees so I presume that the models are exactly the same as the ones you buy in store?

The company Choice Mobile is pretty crappy though. I ask 4 times to bring 3x SIM cards and they only brought 1. The last time I dealt with them (the person has left) got an x5 with battery issues and the guy messed up multiple times.

Hi Jonathan, specs for the modem are on the 2degrees site here. According to the specs it does support 900MHz but perhaps the issue is that you're trying to use broadband zone data in an area not covered by 2degrees?

I know you've had issues with the battery on your X5 but I wasn't aware of the other problems. You've got my email address - I'm happy to help if you're having any problems with our service.

The 7.2mbps are 900MHz 3G compatible but come with 2GB of Mobile Broadband data so unless you add a National Data pack it will only work in our MBB zones - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobilebroadband/broadbandzones

To top-up and load a National Data pack see http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/prepay/topping-up/topup-usb-modem and http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/topuponline

Zeon - please PM me with your details and I'll get onto Choice Mobile for you, or PM Amanzi from Choice Mobile direct (as above).

Cheers
