Hell i hope not. I'd be pissed off :-)

Just got one from 2degrees website. $299 seems to be the only cheapest at this moment without a plan.

Well I thought, that's so cheap that phone must be rubbish, DSE had it for $327. Came back and read some reviews, no SII or anything but at that price a total steal. I will try and get one tomorrow.

Personally I would go for black, but for saving $172 from DSE, I am willing to take a hit on my masculinity.

Speaking from experience with a white phone - if you don't get a cover, you can expect a lot of 'that's a really nice/cute/stylish phone' type thing from the female of the species. This may, or may not be to your liking. ;   ).

Mine is white but i dont care as I've always used the soft silicone rubber type cover for my phones which you can get in any of the main colours. They're non slip (like on car dash) & feel great. Helps protect it if your drop it. Check trademe.
friends always ask have i got a new phone? with my last one being a U8150 which i've had for ages.

I nearly got a IPhone but androids are great & the x5 is up there with the rest like samsung/HTC for much more the price.
Yeah i've only had mine for a few weeks. Only thing i hate is going through alot of data. But i hear 2degrees are putting out a new combo pack for prepay with 300mb data next week.

Oh download juice defender from the market. Its free. Help you with battery life or it will only last a day. :-)

I bought one for my daughter for her birthday in December. I'm very impressed with the phone, especially for the $250 it cost us. :-)

I also purchased a Huawei X3, which I use for Android development. Ironically this phone cost us $19 more (it was purchased way before the X5 was on special, and was originally going to be my daughters phone). The X5 is a far, far superior phone, and I'm glad we found her one in the post Xmas sales. I really think it made the difference between a functional phone with many annoyances, to one which has almost iPhone levels of performance (she is used to my iPhone as a comparison).

The only problem she has with the X5 is really bad shutter lag with the camera. I really must remember to investigate a solution to that one.

Is this 2 degrees?  - Meaning it will run happily on all Vodafone networks 900/2100MHz for example?

Seriously good price.  I've just got a phone and am happy with it, but man that's worth a look at $200.
When does the special run out?

For $200 that has to represent the best value smartphone on the market full stop. Well worth the effort to upgrade to Gingerbread, even better if you are prepared to root it and bump the processor up to 1ghz (rumour has it that the exact same processor runs at 1ghz in another phone out of the box)

Given the recent preference of many to go for a white iphone 4s over black it does surprise me the white X5 appears to be a flop but for the saving it is a no brainer white = $100 cheaper done :P

Sale ends Tuesday. I am in the south Island so maybe it's just down here.

No I'm pretty sure I saw this in the Palmerston North Warehouse but I wasn't paying much attention at the time. It's not, well wasn't when I last checked, online though which is a bit odd.

Yeah my parents are going to pick one up today. They rang and it is in some/all stores and includes the 2 degrees sim card too! Great deal!
