Hi guys,

Have recently joined orcon and have been happy with the switch over. It went smoothly and I now appear to get better speeds (well from local speed tests anyway) and pay much less. The Genius device was very easy to setup also. One question I have though is how you can view missed calls on the genius phone. Has anyone worked out if this is possible? Would be quite stink if it doesn't offer this functionality.

Thanks,
George.

I have a Genius Lite, the one without the built-in handset, so I cannot help you with the missed calls on your handset. However, your router also gives you information via its web management interface about missed calls. It is accessible by logging in to your router with your admin password and then selecting option 3. Set up my Voip from the menu across the top, then option 6. Call history from the menu on the left. There are three panels, the left one is missed calls. Hope this helps.

Hi guys. Thanks for the tip about viewing missed calls on router! It's handy to know, but still not a practical place to check all the time. You would think it would be possible to view it on the phone somehow. I will try emailing orcon, but just thought someone would ought have already figured it out.

I agree. At some stage in the future I hope to be able to integrate the information from that page into my household intranet site, so that it is more readily available to my family. I don't even know if that is going to be possible yet. Each poll of the router's secured pages will probably have to be accompanied with credentials. Surely people pull info from secured sites all the time so it must be do-able somehow. My ideas are often bigger than my current technical abilities allow for. :-)

The genius supports caller ID display and phones supporting CLI features work well.
I have the genius with the dect hand set but would not recommend as the is little CLI support making the reviewing of calls near impossible.
A good quality 1.8Ghz DECT cordless phone is a really good companion for the Genius saving the need for extra cabling.

If it doesn't fit. Get a bigger hammer!
